Who we are

Communityworks Non-Profit Housing Corporation (NPHC) was founded in 1985 and incorporated in 1986.  Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable, non-profit housing to residents of Ottawa, with a particular focus in the east Ottawa area.

Our objectives

  • Increase the supply of affordable housing in Ottawa.
  • Increase access to adequate affordable housing suitable to the needs of the community.
  • Develop and maintain fully integrated communities with households from a mix of socio-economic backgrounds including housing for the physically challenged.
  • Promote energy-efficient, recycling and other forms of environmental stewardship.
  • Develop and manage projects efficiently and cost-effectively, to ensure responsible use of public funds.

Residents

Communityworks NPHC is home to residents from all components of the greater Ottawa community.  It houses singles, families, couples, single parent families and seniors amongst its four existing developments.  As a matter of policy, Communityworks NPHC does not discriminate either in favour or against any specific groups of people.  Communityworks NPHC currently has an agreement with Total Communications Environment (TCE) for three supportive units.

Portfolio

Communityworks NPHC is currently comprised of four developments with a total of 178 units ranging from one to four bedroom townhouses, one and two bedroom apartments and one to three bedroom stacked townhouses. 19 units are modified.  Three of our buildings are situated in east Ottawa and one is located in the downtown/west Ottawa area.
